The Maidstone District now has its own website (Maidstone District OnLine) which provides loads of stuff about meetings, practices and so on. This is maintained by Roy Barclay and is accessible directly by clicking on the link above. The KCACR site will continue to publish odd snippets, but the really up-to-the-minute stuff will be accessible via the link above.

The August 2011 issue of the District newsletter The Belfry is now available in PDF format by clicking on the link above. Towers and individuals outside the Maidstone District can obtain copies for 50p each plus postage by contacting the Editor-cum-Publicity Officer, Roy Barclay, at roybarclay@kcacr-maidstone-district.org.uk.

New news 31 October 2010: the other one has also found a new home in South Africa. More of the story here.

Snodland out of action

We hear from Sue Brooks that there are problems at Snodland. She writes: I regret to inform you that the survey carried out recently on the tower at All Saints Snodland found that both the ringing and bell chamber floors, together with the north aisle, need substantial work carried out before they are deemed safe to use again.

The tower is therefore not likely to be available for ringing for some considerable time, at least a year, possibly longer.

All about ringing for experts and nonringers alike

Are you an established ringer with questions about ringing that you were afraid to ask? Are you new to ringing? Are you just visiting this site by chance and would like to find out a little about this amazing bunch of people?

There is now a worldwide freeby encyclopedia on the Internet, called Wikipedia. This covers just about every topic you could ever think about, including ringers and ringing. This is written and edited by ringers, so it's far from the usual sort of stuff you find in newspapers. Try the link on the links page (or click here if you're keen to get started).
